Imperial College London

The Imperial Centre for Quantum Science, Engineering and Technology (QuEST) draws heavily from a diverse selection of world-leading engineers and scientists, who share an excitement for the potential of the quantum domain. The purpose of the Centre is to bring together science and engineering quantum research at Imperial College London for innovation through quantum mechanics.

Imperial College London has a broad interest in quantum information processing and the use of quantum computing for scientific calculations. With its long history in quantum optics, Imperial College London hosts both experimental and theoretical activities aiming at putting quantum mechanical systems towards practical use.

The Quantum Optics and Laser Science (QOLS) group within Imperial College's Physics Department has a focus on optimal control of quantum systems. The QOLS research team is working on the design of temporally shaped electromagnetic fields that make quantum information processing with trapped ions or other quantum systems resilient to unavoidable noise.
